Bali Wellness Journeys (BJW) describes it as a new path to health and integrated well-being that connects the individual with Bali’s healing practices and therapies.
After years of dealing with traditional Western medicines and practices, “which offer incomplete integrated wellness”, says Dick McCune, one of Bali Wellness Journey’s investors, BJW felt the time had come to share Bali’s local traditional healing beliefs and methods in combination with Western concepts and skills.
The company targets tourists to Bali, providing an introduction into the world of well-being – “guests who are interested in more than just another Massage or Spa-only experience or not prepared for a week at Como Shambhala or a similar location”, added Mary Darling, BWJ’s primary consultant.
“We offer affordable and accessible alternative or complementary therapies, beauty options, consultations with various specialists, and other various pathways that can assist in a personal journey of well-being.“
‘Bali is widely recognized as the Spa Capital of Asia year after year though not necessarily known for its wellness offerings … BWJ’s journeys provide a path for each person to find their own path to well-being and not just following in another’s path,‘ says Putu Ernawati, managing director.
“It’s more than just a massage or a Yoga class. The path to well-being encompasses aspects as diverse as fitness, nutrition, beauty, complementary and alternative therapies, and mind and body experiences. I want to share my home with the world”.
BWJ’s journeys include a professional consultation with a specialist of various therapies and an English-speaking Balinese professional, who will provide experiences and memories that “will have you emerge from your holiday with a bright new attitude or outlook on health and well-being.
All journeys include traditional healthy drinks, refreshing cold towels, a small gift as well as transportation.
BWJ also organizes professional study tours, retreats, hotel/resort integration programs, as well as holistic events, as co-ordinated and directed by its primary consultant, Mary Darling ( www.marydarling.com )
